Violent confrontation outside Minneapolis food market leaves one shot dead

MINNEAPOLIS – Police in Minneapolis are searching for clues after a violent confrontation in front of a food market that left one person shot dead.

At 9:30 PM on Friday evening, July 10, an altercation inside the North Side Food Market moved out onto the sidewalk where one person shot another and fled prior to officers arrival.

Officers responded to 911 reports of shots fired as well as a Shot Spotter activation. The body of a deceased adult male was found in close proximity to where the shots were reportedly fired.

This is not believed to be a random incident. No one is in custody at this time. The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the deceased along with the nature and cause of death.
