MASON CITY – A man who broke into a house in 2012 and assaulted the occupant inside and was later paroled from prison is back behind bars, accused of violating his parole.
Harold Victory Stinnett, age 24, was sent to prison in 2012 after he accepted a plea deal in first degree burglary case, pleading guilty to third degree burglary. He received a 10 year prison sentence but was paroled in May of 2014. In that incident, responded to an altercation at 702 9th Street NE on April 21, 2012. Officers discovered that Stinnett had forced his way into the house and assaulted the occupant inside. The fight then spilled out into the front yard. Stinnett fled before officers arrived. The victim gave officers a description and after a brief search of the area, Stinnett was apprehended, arrested, convicted and sent to prison.
Stinnett is now accused of violating that parole. A warrant had been issued for his arrest back on January 12. He was located two days later at a Mason City bar at about 1:30 AM in the morning and taken to jail, where he remains held on no bond.
