COUNCIL BLUFFS – A New Jersey truck driver was killed Thursday morning after losing control of his semi on a western Iowa Interstate.
According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, at 6:55 AM January 15, a 2005 International semi with a trailer driven by 48-year-old Jeffrey Hall of North Brunswick New Jersey was traveling west bound on Interstate 680 when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the median. Hall swerved back onto the Interstate as the trailer struck a guardrail. The tractor trailer then rolled onto its left side as it continued northwest and went through a guardrail. Hall was ejected from the semi as it came to rest in the north ditch.
Law enforcement and emergency responders soon were at the scene, and Hall was pronounced dead and transported to a funeral home.
