CHARLES CITY – A Rudd woman charged with serious crimes involving a child has had the start of her trial delayed.

Lacey Lea Holtz, 31, was arrested by Floyd county deputies on August 8 and charged with enticing a minor under the age of 16, child endangerment – meth exposure, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, and possession of marijuana.

The crimes allegedly occurred on August 4 and 5.

Holtz was set for trial on November 20. However, a judge set a new trial date of January 22 jury trial date. A pre-trial conference was also schedule for January 13. Holtz was released from jail on August 8. A no-contact order was set between Holtz and her alleged victim.

In addition, further charges of assault and possession of drug paraphernalia were brought against Holtz; those crimes allegedly were committed on the same dates. She’ll stand trial on those charges on January 22, as well, if a plea deal is not reached.
