Charles City man arrested for vehicle burglaries

CHARLES CITY – Police in Charles City arrested a wanted man after a series of car burglaries that were under investigation.

Officers went to the home of 22-year-old Adam Mares on September 10 and placed him under arrest on a warrant for failing to show up in court to answer for a charge of third degree burglary. He pled guilty the next day and awaits sentencing as he is still held in the Floyd County Jail.

The burglary charge stems from an incident on the afternoon of June 16 when police received reports that Mares and another individual were undertaking vehicle burglaries at the 800 block of Clark Street. Citizens helped police identify the individuals involved in the crimes.
