CLEAR LAKE – Summer is drawing to a close as school bells ring, footballs are kicked off and the days draw shorter.
That didn’t stop Clear Lake from throwing one last party Saturday, with a little bit of everything for folks to enjoy as their attention turns to the fall and its own, different good times.
People of all ages, shapes and sizes threw on their “beachy clothes” and gathered at City Beach starting in the afternoon Saturday for a day fun. People created sand castles, competed in a bean bag tournament, and even a boat race – featuring recycled boats. There was a volleyball tournament earlier that morning, too.
Spenser Rahm played acoustic rock on the beach stage from 4-6pm, and DJ Jared Allen took over from 6-8pm.
There was a raffle with prizes and grilled food. Later, in City Park, a family-friendly movie was shown – Nicholas Spark’s Safe Haven.
