SWALEDALE – Swaledale Mayor John Drury has filed nomination papers to run as an Independent candidate for District 2 County Supervisor in the November election.
“In my travels across the district these past couple of months, I’ve talked to many people who weren’t happy with the results of the special Democratic nomination convention,” said John. “These folks take the common-sense view that the approval of a small committee is not as important as electing the candidate with the best qualifications for the Board of Supervisors. Knowing my experience in government, they believe that I am that candidate, and it is with their support and encouragement that I file my nomination papers today. As seven-term mayor of a small town, I know how to get things done with limited funds. I know how to work with citizens, businesses, and government agencies to find creative, economical solutions for the betterment of our communities. These are necessary skills for a county supervisor, and I look forward to the campaign as a chance to meet with the people of District 2 and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing our county.”
John is serving his 7th term as mayor of Swaledale and is running for Cerro Gordo County Supervisor in District 2.
