Iowa child abuser faces more charges of lascivious acts

FAYETTE – In the Fall of 2010 the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office arrested Timothy Edwin Parker of Westgate for several counts of sexual abuse and lascivious acts of a child. Parker was convicted in late 2011 and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

In early 2014 another alleged victim came forward and reported alleged abuse by Timothy Parker. The Sheriff’s office completed a two month investigation and on March 20, 2014, filed three charges of Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree, Enhanced on Timothy Edwin Parker. It was discovered that over the course of several years, 2008 through 2010, several incidents of sexual abuse of a female child age 12 or younger were found to have occurred. Parker’s charges were enhanced due to being convicted of a sexual crime upon child, thus making other charges enhanced. Each sexual abuse in the second degree on Parker is a class A felony and can carry a 25 year prison sentence. Parker was picked up from Oakdale prison on April 10, 2014, and transported to the Fayette County Jail to make his initial appearance. Parker remains in the Fayette County Jail on a $225,000.00 cash bond and is awaiting trial.

If convicted on all three counts could face an additional 75 years in prison.
