Flash flood warning and watches persist in North Iowa area

HAMPTON – Heavy rain is forecast for North Central Iowa Monday through Monday evening.

Flash flood warning and watches are still in effect for most of Franklin county. Many rivers and streams are well outside their banks at this time. Waterlogged soil and new rainfall will contribute to possibly dangerous flooding conditions. Many secondary roads in Franklin county are experiencing flooding into Monday.

New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible are possible in Mason City and the immediate areas.

KWWL in Waterloo has reported that officials in New Hartford are suggesting that residents evacuate that town as Beaver Creek continues to rise.
