One of the of two men arrested on drug delivery charges last week is now facing numerous federal charges.
Shortly before noon on Sunday law enforcement served Louie Angel Flores Jr with a federal warrant placing a US Marshal hold on him.
The federal charges from US Federal Court Case CR11-3056 include:
– Conspiracy to distribute meth by a felon
– Distribution of meth by a felon within 1000 feet of a park
– Possession with Intent to Distribute Meth by a Felon
– Possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime
Louie Flores has been held in Cerro Gordo County jail on $60,000 bond since law enforcement arrest him following a traffic stop in on 7 St SE, Mason City on Friday December 9th. At that time Flores was charged on state felony charges of possession with intent to deliver meth, failure to affix drug tax stamp, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Clear Lake resident Shawn Benedict Zimmerman, who was in the vehicle with Flores, was also charged with felony possession with intent to deliver marijuana in the incident. Zimmerman had been released from jail with stipulations the following morning. It is unclear at this time rather Zimmerman will face federal charges in the incident.
The federal system has mandatory sentencing and no parole if a defendant is convicted.
Court records show Flores has been arrested at least twice for possession with intent to deliver meth and convicted in at least one of those cases.
