Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after the House Republican leadership announced they will reverse course and allow votes on Hurricane Sandy relief:
“Though it is good news that Republicans have announced their intention to bring up partial legislation covering $9 billion in Hurricane Sandy relief this Friday, it still leaves more than 80 percent of the region’s emergency needs unmet.
“Once again, the Republican leadership of the House has committed to putting forward another Sandy relief aid package in mid-January. We only hope that a large number of House Republicans join the large majority of Democrats in passing this critical legislation.
“Already, this marks one of the longest delays in congressional action in response to a major natural disaster in recent memory. The families, businesses, and communities affected by Hurricane Sandy deserve better.”
And just what was the delay. Drama Obama had to make his big political play on the Republicans so his pet dog Harry Reid wouldn’t bring it up. When they finally did it was loaded with earmarks that had nothing to do with Sandy Relief and the Republican Leadership refused to sign up for more pork. It is just amazing how the left wing media just tells part of the story. This broad needs to go back to goofy San Fransico where she belongs. She is a multi millionair that just pretends to care about the middle class.
