FORT DODGE – Two Mason City teens and others were arrested in Fort Dodge after cops searched a house, armed with dangerous weapons, illegal drugs, and other crimes ranging from burglary to child endangerment.
On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, investigators with the Fort Dodge Police Department, along with members of the FDPD/WCSO Special Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at the residence of 1613 2nd Ave S. This warrant was executed in relation to multiple investigations that the criminal investigation division is conducting. During the execution of the search warrant, investigators located and seized a firearm, as well as illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and numerous other items.
In the weeks following the execution of that search warrant, investigators continued to follow up on leads and examine evidence. As a result of the investigation thus far, multiple subjects have been charged and taken into custody.
Amanda M. Hinton, 37‐years‐old of Fort Dodge has been charged with the following:
– Child Endangerment (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor)
– Possession of Controlled Substance (Serious Misdemeanor)
– Possession of Offensive Weapon as Felon (D Felony)
– Conspiracy to Commit Forcible Felony (D Felony)
– Prohibited Transfer/Loan/Rent of Firearm to Unauthorized Person (D Felony)
A 16‐year‐old juvenile male of Fort Dodge has been charged with the following:
– Minor Armed with a Dangerous Weapon x 2 (Serious Misdemeanor)
– Possession of Firearm as a Felon x 2 (D Felony)
– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor)
– Assault on a Peace Officer (Serious Misdemeanor)
A 15‐year‐old juvenile male of Fort Dodge has been charged with the following:
– Minor Armed with Dangerous Weapon x 3 (Serious Misdemeanor)
A 14‐year‐old juvenile male of Fort Dodge has been charged with the following:
– Minor Armed with Dangerous Weapon x 2 (Serious Misdemeanor)
A 17‐year‐old juvenile male of Fort Dodge has been charged with the following:
– Theft 3rd (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
– Minor Armed with Dangerous Weapon (Serious Misdemeanor)
A 15‐year‐old juvenile male of Mason City has been charged with the following:
– Minor Armed with Dangerous Weapon x 4 (Serious Misdemeanor)
Jesup J. Ward, 18‐years‐old of Mason City was arrested on the following warrant:
– Burglary 2nd (C Felony)
As with all criminal cases, the individuals listed above are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
