VENTURA – Starting back in March, Ventura has been tearing up their streets, putting in new piping and laying new pavement. This has been a spring and summer long project.
As time gets closer to school starting, Mary, a resident of Ventura says, “I believe they want to get it done before school starts, but they have it planned very well. If it doesn’t get done, there are accesses to the schools. The streets that are done turned out nice.”
On Tuesday, two out of four entries to Ventura were blocked off. The north entry off of Highway 18 is detoured to McIntosh Road and 250th or W. Lake St. from the west side is blocked off. The south entry, on Balsam is open until you hit uptown, then it detours. Keep this in mind if you’ll be traveling through Ventura anytime soon.
“It’s a hell of a inconvenience,” says Bob Wolfram, “but it’s put a lot of local people to work at a time when people need it.”
The pictures start with tearing up W. Lake Street and putting in new piping in March. The rest are taken throughout the summer, showing the mess and the progress.
