MASON CITY – Heartland Asphalt was the lone bidder on a resurfacing project for county road S-14.  Their bid was 1,908,219 .38.  The estimated cost was $1.85 million.  County Engineer Mary Kelly attributed the higher bid to soaring fuel costs.

Pine Creek Golf Club was awarded a beer permit.

The Supervisors moved to clear up a mess at Gracious Estates.  County Treasurer Pat Wright said that a previous manager was selling mobile homes without titles, which is illegal.  Each case is a little different and they are difficult to solve.  “We’ve had to get creative,” she said.  Her office is using the court system to resolve some of the matters.
