Two arrested after “suspicious” vehicle stopped Saturday on Avenue

RUDD —Floyd County Sheriff Rick Lynch confirmed today the arrest of two persons after a “suspicious vehicle” was stopped on the Avenue of the Saints near Rudd Saturday evening at 8:10 p.m.

Raymond Nelson, 56, of Ossian, was arrested on outstanding warrants for forgery, harassment of a public officer, and malicious prosecution.  After a scuffle with deputies during the traffic stop, Ossian was also charged with interference with official acts.  The deputies suffered minor injuries, Lynch said.  Nelson was taken to the Floyd County Jail and held on $27,800 bond.

A Floyd woman was also arrested.  Faith Lohr, 35, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released.

$1,950 in cash was found in the car and seized.

A third person in the car, Ron Weber from Greene, Iowa, was not charged and allowed to go on his way, according to Lynch.
