MASON CITY – Tonya Clifford had originally been arrested and transported to Cerro Gordo County jail by Clear Lake police on September 1st on an aggravated misdemeanor charge of child endangerment from an incident that occurred August 31st.
On Monday, October 17th, Tonya Clifford entered a voluntary negotiated guilty plea to an adjusted serious misdemeanor charge of assault causing bodily injury in Cerro Gordo County District Court. Judge Gerald W. Magee sentenced Tonya Clifford to a one year suspended jail term, one year probation with the Iowa Department of Correction, and to pay $625 in courts fines, surcharges, and costs.
