FOREST CITY, IOWA – Last night, October 20, 2011, in Forest City at approximately 6:15 PM, two agents from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation were involved in an altercation with an off-duty Forest City Police Officer who was under investigation. Following an interview with the off-duty officer, a struggle ensued which resulted in the officer being shot by one of the DCI agents.
Emergency personnel were immediately called to the scene. The officer was transported to a local hospital and is being treated for a non-life threatening injury.
The investigation into this incident is continuing.
