NIACC announces 2025 Fall Term President’s and Dean’s List
MASON CITY – North Iowa Area Community College announced today that 1,109 individuals have been named to the 2025 Fall Term President’s List and Dean’s List. These students represent 106 Iowa communities, 14 states outside the state of Iowa, and 20 countries outside of the United States. Students are listed by hometown.
New welfare program for needy Iowans doles out $40 per kid for summer food
DES MOINES — Governor Reynolds and Iowa Health and Human Services (HHS) today announced the state will participate in the federal SUN Bucks program (also known as Summer EBT) beginning in 2026 after being notified Friday that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) had approved the state’s waiver to align the summer feeding program for children with Iowa’s new Healthy SNAP program. SUN Bucks eligible families will receive $40 per child per month in grocery benefits over the summer to help ensure children have access to nutritious food while school is out. Paid out via EBT card.
College Football: Iowa State to bring back former offensive coordinator Tyler Roehl, from Detroit Lions
AMES – Tyler Roehl is returning to Iowa State as offensive coordinator after a one-year stint with the Detroit Lions. Roehl previously served as assistant head coach and running backs coach for the Cyclones during their record-setting 2024 season.
