Mary Lee was born on August 29, 1946, in Fort Atkinson, the daughter of Denis and Gertrude (Rausch) Meyer. She was the eldest of four children and grew up in the Fort Atkinson area. Mary Lee attended Turkey Valley High School, graduating with the Class of 1965.
It was during her school years that she met Allyn Einck. With some persistence, Allyn convinced Mary Lee to go on a date, and from then on the two were inseparable. They were united in marriage in August of 1964 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, and together they were blessed with three children: Kevin, Ricardo, and Nicole. Mary Lee and Allyn enjoyed playing cards together and taking fishing trips, cherishing their time as a couple. Their marriage was tragically cut short when Allyn passed away in 1985 after a brief battle with cancer.
Mary Lee showed remarkable strength and perseverance as she continued raising her family and working. Over the years, she held several jobs in the community, including waitress, secretary, and eventually found her true calling at Gardner Drug Store, where she enjoyed serving and connecting with others.
Later in life, Mary Lee was blessed to find love again with Donald Moothart. They were married in June of 1999, and together they shared many adventures. Mary Lee and Don started their own business, Heart 2 Heart, where they crafted handmade items and traveled to craft shows together. The couple also spent winters in Texas, creating countless memories side by side.
Family was the center of Mary Lee’s life. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, treasured every moment with them, whether it was playing cards, board games, or sharing her love of quilting and crocheting.
Mary Lee is survived by two sons, Kevin (Wendy) Einck of New Hampton, Ricardo Einck of Brainard, MN; 8 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, James (Kathy) Meyer of Plano, TX, David (Kim) Meyer of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Denise (Ken) Kuehner of Mankato, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Allyn Einck in 1985; second husband Donald Moothart in 2022; one daughter, Nicole Gugin in 2019.
