Ida Kruse was born on June 4, 1954, in Charles City, Iowa, to Eldo and Rena (Cavozza) Kruse. She grew up in Bristow and graduated from high school there with the same hard-working values and deep compassion that would guide her entire life. On May 4, 1974, she married the love of her life, Gary Beaver, in Vilmar, Iowa, and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.

Ida was a pillar of strength and selflessness. At times she worked multiple jobs to ensure her family had everything they needed. She dedicated much of her career to caring for others, serving as a CNA at Good Shepherd and MercyOne in Mason City. She also brought joy to others through her work at Fashion Bug and in-home care, always putting the needs of others before her own.

Her greatest joy was her family. She had a heart that made everyone feel welcome. Some of her favorite memories were the day trips she planned for her children. Whether it was a visit to the Amana Colonies or a simple drive to a nearby park, Ida always found a way to turn an ordinary day into something magical. She often invited her children’s friends along for the ride, making sure every child felt included and loved. As her family grew, she continued the tradition with her grandchildren, creating special moments filled with laughter, adventure, and love.

Her home was a haven where everyone felt they belonged. Whether it was a holiday meal or just a casual afternoon visit, she made sure there was always enough food, enough warmth, and enough love to go around.

Ida had a deep love for country music, especially Alan Jackson. She had a deep love for country music and always looked forward to the Country Music Awards. She enjoyed going to live concerts whenever she had the opportunity. In her later years, she truly cherished her time at Legacy Manor, where she spent her days playing dominoes and bingo, watching movies, and enjoying the company of friends and a close-knit community.

She was a woman of quiet generosity and grace. Ida spent her free time making tie blankets for hospital patients, always thinking of others. She loved going to Rib Crib and Pasta Bella, anything peach or lemon flavored, and never turned down a good milkshake, especially if you brought one by during a visit.

Those who knew her will remember her as kind, nurturing, funny, and full of heart. She gave her love freely and lived her life with compassion and care.

Ida is survived by her sons, Bob (Becky) Beaver and Dan (Angie) Beaver; her sisters, Mary (Dan) Graeser and JoAnn (Kim) Miller; her eleven grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldo and Rena Kruse; her beloved husband, Gary Beaver; her son, David Beaver; brother, John Kruse; nephews, Matt Graeser and John Beaver; brother-in-law, Larry Beaver; and sister-in-law, Sherry Nock.
