Rodney Jerald Doty was born in Carroll, Iowa on March 2, 1967 to Jerald and Bethel (Sigler) Doty. He passed away at his home in Estherville on July 22, 2025 at the age of 58.
Rodney spent his entire life building things. Give him a hammer, some wood, and nails and he would build anything you needed. He worked his entire life in the construction field. He also enjoyed building items for friends and family.
Rodney was united in marriage to Deanna Titus in May of 2005 in West Bend, Iowa. Shortly after their marriage the couple moved to Estherville. He filled the role of Grandpa, very well. He adored the time he got to spend with his grandchildren; especially teaching them how to build things and supporting their activities. Deanna later divorced but still remained close friends and were very supportive of each other.
Rodney is survived by his life-long companion Deanna Doty of Estherville; his children Rodney Kurth, Randy Kurth, Tracie Kurth, Jessica Kurth, Leslie Gerke, and Lynn Goettsch; 14 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his siblings Roger, Rick, Rachel, Rhonda, Randy, Twila, Jerry, and Pat.
Rodney is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ryan.
