Leonard Herman Laue, was born in Winnebago, Minnesota to Fred and Lottie (Weidow) Laue on December 1, 1947. He passed away at his home in Armstrong, Iowa on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the age of 77 years.
Leonard graduated from Granada High School and then attended two years of technical college. In 1968, he entered the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1969 and returned home to Minnesota. Being quite handy, he began and ran his own construction company for many years. In 1979, he moved to the Fenton area; while living there he enjoyed his time driving truck for Standard Nutrition of Bancroft for 27 years. In 2013, he relocated to Armstrong until his death.
Leonard was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church of Armstrong. Being outdoors in nature, hunting, fishing, and scraping iron were some of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed testing his luck at the casinos.
Leonard is survived by his children Chad Laue of Fenton, Adrien (Dawnielle) Laue of Terril, Mitchell (Jolene) Laue of Ringsted, Ethen Laue (Lauren) of Fenton, Levi Jenkins (Jennifer) of Armstrong, Justin Jenkins (Katie) of Armstrong, Kyle Jenkins of Armstrong, and Steven Ottman of Boscobel, Wisconsin; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Margie (Maurice) Elmore of Blue Earth, Minnesota, his brother Lowell (Wanda) Laue of Castlewood, South Dakota, brother-in-law LaVerne Elmore of Fairmont, and special friend Laura Jenkins of Armstrong.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Leanne Frank, and sister Darlene Elmore.
