Mary Ann Baker, 83, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City, Iowa. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Plymouth, Iowa.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel.
On August 7, 1941, Mary was born the daughter of Benjamin and Lilian (Bednar) Navratil of Plymouth, Iowa. She attended the local school in Plymouth. One day Mary met the love of her life at the Osage skating rink, his name was Donald Emery Baker. The couple were married on August 23, 1958, together raising four children. As a homemaker Mary saw that all her children and husband were well taken care of.
In Mary’s younger years she enjoyed playing guitar as well as playing musical instruments at local nursing homes with her parents and sister. Throughout her entire life she loved being outdoors, as well as taking many trips to travel.
Those left to cherish memories of Mary are her children, Rosalee “Lee” Paul of Mason City, IA, Jacque Mormann of Ankeny, IA, and Mark Baker of Thornton, IA; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brother, LeRoy (Carol) Navratil; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Donald Baker; and son, Scott Baker; and both of her parents, and sister, Jeanne Arp.
