FORT DODGE – Firefighters were unable to resuscitate a dog in the aftermath of a recent Fort Dodge trailer fire.

At 9:01 PM on Saturday evening, August 3, Fort Dodge Firefighters were dispatched to Village Green Mobile Home Park, 3102 N 15th Street, Lot 6, for a structure fire.

Fire units arrived to find heavy fire involvement from windows on the bravo side of the trailer. Command ordered an offensive attack. The Engine 1 crew attacked the fire, and knocked it down quickly, as the Engine 5 crew performed a primary search. Command relayed there were reports of occupants trapped in the structure, but none were found. Unfortunately, a dog was found during the search, and although resuscitation was attempted, it did not survive.

Extensive overhaul was performed to ensure the fire was completely extinguished. The fire room sustained heavy fire damage, and the rest of the structure sustained smoke damage throughout. There were no other injuries as a result of the fire.
