IOWA CITY – Homecoming at the University of Iowa this year featured an opportunity for the Hawkeye’s biggest star – Caitlin Clark – to meet face-to-face with sports talkshow celebrity Stephen A. Smith.
Beyond the Game: A discussion with Stephen A. Smith, Mark Shapiro, and Caitlin Clark was set to be held at the University of Iowa Pentacrest on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 7:30 PM.
The event was described as “Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear from Iowa basketball superstar Caitlin Clark, in conversation with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith and Iowa alumnus Mark Shapiro! The talk will begin following the parade, at approximately 7:30 p.m. on the Pentacrest stage, in front of the Old Capitol.”
Days ago, Stephen A Smith tweeted that he “is most excited to see Caitlin Clark play this season. I’m just a Caitlin Clark fan. I think she is the Steph Curry of women’s college basketball.”
Smith also stopped by the Iowa Hawkeye men’s team practice area to chat with head coach Fran McCaffery (pictured, above, via University of Iowa.)
