ESTHERVILLE, IOWA – Four people were charged with drug crimes as the result of a search warrant in Estherville recently.
According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, while a sheriff’s deputy was serving a civil process March 2, 2022 at 1:30 PM at a residence in Estherville, they noticed evidence of illegal drug activity in the residence.
A search warrant was applied for and granted for this residence located at 124 West 2nd Avenue North in Estherville. Upon execution of the search warrant by the sheriff’s office, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia, vape pens, cartridges, marijuana and nearly 160 grams of marijuana wax were located at the scene.
As a result of the investigation, 19-year-old Caleb Truog of Estherville, 19-year-old Gabriel Soat of Estherville and 18-year-old Paije Bergstrom of Primghar were taken into custody and transported to the Emmet County Jail where they were booked.
Truog was charged with Possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) 2nd offense, Possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) with intent to deliver, Failure to affix a drug tax stamp, Gatherings where controlled substances are used, misbranding or labeling of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Soat and Bergstrom were both charged with Possession of a controlled substance (1st offense) and Possession of drug paraphernalia.
In addition, a 17-year-old was also referred to juvenile court authorities for Possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) 1st offense and Possession of drug paraphernalia.
The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Estherville Police Department.
Move. The effects of being jailed at such an early age in life will increase the chances of a life in crisis well into adulthood. If you were to move, say to where its legal to use, get your fill, then the chances are good you leave the demon weed behind as you live out your life. The real demon in the room is whiskey. When the wrong person drinks it. Which is pretty much everybody. The cannabis eases tension in users. Jail increases tension in people. Leading to unproductive troublesome types living a life in crisis. Imagine drinking whiskey and smoking ganja. That would be a double demon. Yeah best just to move to where it’s harmless. Avoid jail time, double demons, and decades of a life in crisis. Iowa’s a dry state surround by mountains of cannabis making bookoo tax dollars in there state off it. And last but not by any means the least. The real reason the state of Nebraska was founded was the God fearing peoples left because the ‘frontier’ known as Iowa was filled with whiskey drunks and other such river vermin.
