Willie J. Phillips, 80, of Loves Park, Illinois passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021. He was born June 29, 1940, in Algona, Iowa to Bill and Charlotte Phillips. Willie was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Vera Ingrid Hanke in 1961 in Germany. He enjoyed fishing and working on the family farm in Iowa, planting and harvesting every spring and fall. Survivors include his wife Vera; children Nancy (Marlin) Brandt and Gary Phillips; grandchildren Dylan (Aleysha) and Tessa Brandt; great grandchildren Abigail, Lexie and Evelyn; sister Beverly Phillips; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Willie was predeceased by his parents and sister Barbara Cromwell. His son Gary died October 6, 2021 at the Titonka Care Center in Titonka, Iowa at the age of 57. Visitation for both Willie and his son Gary will be 4 – 6 pm Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Titonka. Private family burial will take place at Bingham Township Cemetery in Woden, Iowa.
