Rose Maynard, 77, of Alden, Iowa passed away Friday, October 8, 2021, at her home. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday October 15, 2021 at the Linn’s Funeral Home Iowa Falls Chapel. A time of visitation will be 11:30 am to 1:00 pm prior to services. Rose Ann Lucille Wheaton was born June 4, 1944, in Mendota, Illinois to Day and Mary Alice (O’Gorman) Wheaton. Rose attended school in Putnam County, Illinois through 8th grade and later received her GED in Iowa Falls, Iowa. In 1975 Rose was united in marriage to Donnie Maynard in Neoga, Illinois. She worked at Boyt Manufacturing, Super 8, and Mc Donald’s. She was a member of Immanuel Memorial UCC in Alden, Iowa. Rose loved family time, reading her Bible, gospel music, going fishing, her grand dogs, Facebook, Solitaire Grand Harvest, word search puzzles, cross stitching and sewing.
Rose was survived by her daughters: Tina (Brian) Reichart of Smithville, Missouri, Tammy (Ted) Gould of Sheldahl, Iowa, Janet (Matthew) Jergens of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Donna (Kent Larson) Halstead of Ringsted, Iowa, Bobbie (Chris) Maine of Alden, Iowa, Shirley (Tim) Awe of Iowa Falls, Iowa; twenty-two grandchildren: Bryon (Amber) Swalve, Stephanie (Joe) Johnson, Amanda (Cody) Knecht, Alissa (Nate Burris) Waldron, Brittany Waldron, Mary Waldron, Grant Waldron, Ryan Gould, Casey Jergens, Nichole Jergens, Monique (Jeff) Trosin, Micheal Halstead, Cayla Maine/Mandi Swan, Justin Maine, Joseph Maine, Alexzander Maine, Brandon Maine, Steven Awe, Jessica (Kasey) Crabtree, Tanner Awe, Logan Awe, Levi Awe; thirteen great-grandchildren: Jackson (Jaxs) Johnson, Brigston Johnson, Michael Waldron, Landon Knecht, Witten Knecht, Eira Halstead, John Trosin, Hailey Mitchell, AJ Mitchell, Felix Swan, Callie Awe, Clayton Awe, Norah Crabtree; five grand dogs: Penelope, Oliver, Thea, Annicka, Kisha; three sisters: Patty Dixon of Mattoon, Illinois, Debbie Tucker of Mattoon, Illinois, Marie (Jim) Schnell of Dieterich, Illinois.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Donnie Maynard; two brothers: Bob Wheaton, David Wheaton; two sisters: Ruth Cowger, Ethel Cooper; a son in-law: John Halstead; and many other relatives.
