MASON CITY – NIACC freshman Melvin Kipkemboi has been selected as the USTFCCCA NJCAA Division II cross country men’s athlete of the week.

Also Tuesday, Kipkemboi was selected as the ICCAC Division II men’s cross country athlete of the week for the week of Oct. 12-18.

Kipkemboi placed fourth at last Friday’s Indian Hills Invitational in a time of 25 minutes, 17 seconds on the 8-kilometer course. The time of 25:17 is the fourth fastest 8K time in school history.
