Award winners announced at the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum for the 39th Annual Cerro Gordo Photo Show

2019 Cerro Gordo Photo Show Best in Show award winner Jim Reynolds of Clear Lake, Aerial Ballet, Metal Print

MASON CITY – Award winners were named in the 39th Annual Cerro Gordo Photo Show at the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum on Thursday, April 25. Forty-six entries by twenty-eight artists were chosen for the exhibition by a panel of three judges. Judges for this year’s competition were Jeana Petree of Mason City, 38th Annual Cerro Gordo Photo Show Best in Show award winner and Audrey Sparks, local photographer from Mason City.

The Best in Show award of $150 was presented to Jim Reynolds of Clear Lake for his metal print entitled Aerial Ballet. Melissa Summerfield of Mason City received the second award of $100 for her photograph entitled Branching Out. The third place award of $50 went to Joshua Brueggeman of Mason City for his photograph, Intense Dirt.

Honorable Mentions were awarded to Robert Follmuth of Mason City for the digital image, Light Spirograph, Amber Olsen of Mason City for the digital photograph, Water Echo, and Lisa Grouette of Mason City for her black and white digital photograph, Flowers My Mother Gave Me.

The exhibition is on display through Saturday, June 29, and is sponsored by the Safford and Lena Lock Photo Endowment Fund. Admission to the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum is free of charge.
