MANCHESTER, IOWA – An Iowa man has been jailed after allegedly burning a woman’s clothes in her front yard before applying a choke upon her.
On August 21, 2018, Manchester, Iowa Police were called to 412 South Brewer Street for a reported domestic disturbance. When officers arrived on the scene they spoke with the victim and the defendant. An investigation uncovered the victim came home to find her clothes on fire in the front yard. An argument escalated to a physical attack which caused physical injury to the victim. During the altercation the defendant choked the victim restricting her airway.
As a result, police arrested 50-year-old Scott Wayne Wixom Manchester, Iowa on charges of: Domestic Assault Impeding Air Flow a Class D Felony; Criminal Mischief 4th Degree a Serious Misdemeanor; and Open Burning a Simple Misdemeanor.
