CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake man is facing multiple charges including drunk driving and felony domestic abuse assault involving strangulation after an incident this weekend.
Cerro Gordo deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Saturday morning, August 4 just after midnight at 9727 Wheelerwood Drive in Clear Lake. After an investigation, a resident, 35-year-old Joshua Allen Diekhuis, was arrested on charges of felony domestic abuse assault involving strangulation, operating while intoxicated, and interference with official acts.
Diekhuis, who was convicted of domestic abuse back in 2014, remained jailed Saturday on no bond, awaiting a court appearance.
So I see the fact that he spent 7 days in jail for the first offense taught him a lesson.
