CHARLES CITY – A possible meth lab was discovered this week after police raided a house in Charles City.

The Charles City Police Department and other law enforcement agencies went to a house in the 300 block of 13th Avenue in Charles City on Wednesday, May 24 at about 8:46 PM to execute a narcotics search warrant.

Police say that during the raid on the dwelling, the street was blocked off and narcotics-related items were discovered. A possible meth lab was also at the scene. Police did not mention whether anyone was to be charged in connection with the raid, but did say the operation “took a lot of planning” by law enforcement.

Assisting the Charles City police department was the Iowa State Patrol and the Floyd county sheriff’s office.
