Vincent “Bear” Edward Rohde, 58, of Fayette, died Sunday, March 29, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Fayette Community Church with Pastor Brian Bremner officiating. Interment with military rites will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Fayette. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, April 3rd at Becker & Son Funeral Home in Fayette and for one hour preceding services at the Church on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the family for later designation. The family suggests you wear jeans, flannel shirts or cowboy boots for Bear’s services.
Vincent Edward, son of Joseph Rohde and Rosalie (Michels) Rohde was born November 7, 1967, at Schoitz Hospital in Watelroo. He received his sacrament of baptism at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fayette. Bear received his education in the Fayette and North Fayette Schools, graduating from North Fayette in 1986. Following graduation, he served in the United States Navy from 1986 until his honorable discharge in 1990, when he returned to Fayette. During his service, he was stationed in Mississippi, Guam and Okinawa. Bear’s working career began at Hancor, prior to working for the City of Fayette, over the road trucking and has worked at United Dairy the past twenty years. He was a long time member of the Fayette American Legion and served on the Fayette Volunteer Fire Department from 1995-2010. Bear enjoyed motorcycle rides with his special companion, Janette, deer hunting, euchre, a cold Busch Light, and spending time with his family and friends.
Bear is survived by his loving companion Janette Zell of Fayette; children, Anna (Byron) Frauenkron of Houston, Minnesota, John Rohde of Sumner and Victoria (Salvador) Uribe of Evansdale; grandchildren, Ethan and Elliot Frauenkron and Sam and Spencer Uribe; step-son, Austin (Jamie Wenthe) Zell; step-grandchildren, Conner and Dylan Wenthe; mother, Rosalie Nielsen of Independence; step-mother, Rachel Johnson of Fayette; brothers, Joe (Heidi) Rohde of Maynard and Jason (Bridgett) Rohde of Randalia; step-brothers, Travis (Joan) Johnson of West Union and Bud (Kara) Johnson of West Union; uncle, Donald (Wendy) Rohde of Marion; aunts, Catherine (Don Auxter) Langle of Kirksville, Missouri and Connie Halvorson of Marquette; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members; and his faithful dog, Bo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Rohde; siblings, Sydney Ann, David Allen, Timothy Allen and Rosalie Ann, all who died in infancy; and several aunts and uncles.
