EMMETSBURG, IOWA – A Northern Iowa man was sent to prison after he stole a car, got drunk and crashed it through a garage.
On May 22, 2017 the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office transported Jonathan D. Sutherland, age 32 from Ruthven, Iowa, to the Iowa Medical and Classification Center at Oakdale. Sutherland received an indeterminate prison term not to exceed 5 years.
Sutherland was arrested and charged in January of 2017 with operating while intoxicated and auto theft after he had stolen a vehicle and drove through a garage. Extensive damage occurred to the structure and the car was totalled in the incident.
