MASON CITY – Anti-Donald Trump people gathered in Mason City’s Central Park Sunday afternoon to protest the President’s actions on women’s rights, worker’s rights, immigration and more.
Some traveled from Rockwell, and at least one person was from Minnesota. Young and old were on hand, and they shouted slogans like “Love trumps hate” and “this is what democracy looks like.” They stood on the north end of Central Park along 1st Street NW until they walked around the park one time, waving colorful and bombastic signs that punished President Trump. One sign said “Tiny Hands – Big Mistake”.
One woman said “The grassroots starts here.”
Meanwhile, there was just one pro-Trump man on the scene. His name is Tom, from Mason City; he held up a sign that said “I support Trump!!!!” He told told NIT that the folks gathered across the street from him “have a right to their opinion” but “need to get a job.” Another man showed up who was paying his water bill. He said he voted for President Trump and was “proud of it. These people need to get out of there mother’s basements and seek employment. Just a bunch of sniveling, cry-baby liberals.”
Leftists and Liberals are such a bunch of hypocrites. Signs making fun of Trumps hands or Trumps hair. How childish to focus on ones physical attributes. None the less, Trump is THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. He was put there by our country’s democratic system of voting that has been in place for over 200 years and has been used to place every other president this country has had in the White House. He deserves respect, and if you cant give him that, you are a contributing factor to this nations problems.
He was put there by the illegal actions of a corrupt FBI Director, and Russian Operatives manipulating the minds of voters. Not to mention the lies and slanders of a bigoted candidate named Donald Trump who preyed upon Obama’s skin color and heritage to win over closet racist voters such as yourself.

It was a beautiful February day. Would have been a nice day to take the kids sledding instead of standing downtown protesting. I guess family time is too important to me being a working parent. And just what did this protest accomplish? Nothing except a blurb on KIMT. next time someone needs to inform fox and cnn news. How about this? If you want to protest. How about protesting all the section 8 housing and slum lords that rent to drug dealers that are destroying this community. We have problems right here in Mason City.
