WASHINGTON, D.C. – Democratic Leader and Senator Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after President Trump signed orders to build what she calls “an American taxpayer-funded wall on the U.S.-Mexico border” and block federal resources to sanctuary cities:
“With today’s sweeping and constitutionally suspect executive actions, the President is turning his back on both our history and our values as a proud nation of immigrants. Wasting billions of taxpayer dollars on a border wall Mexico will never pay for, and punishing cities that do not want their local police forces forced to serve as President Trump’s deportation dragnet does nothing to fix our immigration system or keep Americans safe.
“Law-abiding, hard-working immigrant families deserve better than the Trump Administration’s radical xenophobia. Who is made safer when immigrant families cannot go to the police when they are witnesses or victims of crimes? In San Francisco and across the nation, we will fight for the right of any community to choose humane and effective law enforcement strategies that work to protect and serve, not deport and intimidate.
“House Democrats will continue to stand our ground in the face of this Administration and House Republicans’ schemes by fighting for comprehensive immigration reform and fiercely protecting American families.”

A wall will be a good start. But sadly though, Mexico is not the only country sending their freeloaders here. I don’t think many Americans know how much money illegal immigrants actually cost them. In the form of raised insurance premiums, raised healthcare premiums, higher hospital bills and even raised college tuition. Somebody has to pick up the slack, and the bill just get so passed down the line to the end consumer.

An executive order is not going to build a wall. All it does is tell us he wants his minions to find the money to build somewhere in the federal budget. According to Trump, he wants to build a wall, repair all the infrastructure ills, undo the ACA, and destroy the environment. Where is all this money going to come from? He also wants to increase the military budget and decrease taxes. If any of you think this presidency isn’t going to cost you personally, you are really delusional.
The money is going to come from the same place that Obama got the billions he gave away to foreign countries and all his other pet projects. He has given away more money then any other president in history, and what has it really got us. Oh, I know, deeper in debt.

I never call any poster on this site names. I may not agree with everyone, but I don’t call them names because of disagreement. Everyone has their own opinion about everything. With that being said, I don’t care for Pelosi or Clinton, and I’m sure that I have made that clear in past posts. The wall was approved years ago by congress and never built. Trump could do this without an executive order, all he has to say is build that wall that you in Congress approved years ago and never did.

What was authorized was the Secure Fence Act of 2006, it was a fence system. Big difference between the fence and the “impenetrable wall” that Trump wants.
Recent estimates by noted civil engineers & MIT calculate the cost of such a structure to be between 25 to 40 Billion dollars.

Stopping drug smuggling and ending the loss of life of those forced to do the smuggling, stop criminals who would not be able to enter the country legally, people who try to immigrate illegally and end up dead from a perilous journey, stop human trafficking. The list goes on.
