Head Coach Kirk Ferentz
IOWA CITY – University of Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz announced this week that Bobby Kennedy and Chris White will be leaving the Hawkeye program as part of reorganizational efforts within the UI football coaching staff.

“I want to thank Coach Kennedy and Coach White for their efforts and contributions to the University of Iowa and our Hawkeye football program,” said Ferentz. “I wish Bobby and Chris the very best as they move forward in their coaching careers.”

Kennedy has coached Iowa wide receivers, while White has coached running backs and special teams. Both Kennedy and White joined the program in 2013. The changes take effect immediately.

A national search has begun for the two coaching positions, as well as a third vacancy created with the retirement last week of offensive coordinator Greg Davis. Earlier this week, Brian Ferentz , who previously served as offensive line coach and running game coordinator, was promoted to offensive coordinator.

Iowa opens the 2017 season Sept. 2, hosting Wyoming in Kinnick Stadium in the first of seven home games.
