AMES, Iowa – Former Iowa State All-American Kelechi Osemele was named to the National Football League’s All-Pro team, announced by the Associated Press.

Osemele, who is in his first season with the Oakland Raiders, made the All-Pro squad as a guard, joining Tyron Smith (Dallas), Jack Conklin (Tennessee), Zach Martin (Dallas) and Travis Frederick (Dallas) as the five offensive lineman to make the prestigious team.

Osemele was instrumental in helping the Raiders secure their first playoff berth since 2002. The Raiders will face the Houston Texans on Saturday in the AFC Wild Card Playoffs at 3:35 ET.

A native of Houston, Texas, Osemele ranks as one of Iowa State’s greatest offensive lineman in school history (2008-11). A three-time All-Big 12 pick, Osemele was a First-Team All-American selection by Sports Illustrated as a senior in 2011.

The Baltimore Ravens selected Osemele in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He started all 16 games in his rookie season (2012), helping the Ravens win the Super Bowl.

He played four seasons with the Ravens before singing with the Raiders in the offseason.

Osemele is the eighth Cyclone to earn All-Pro honors in the NFL/AFL.
