RURAL WINNEBAGO COUNTY – A Minnesota man lost his life in a recent Northern Iowa auto crash.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on February 21, 2024, in rural Winnebago county, Iowa. At about 4:51 PM that day, a white 1992 Buick Roadmaster driven by 69-year-old David Wayne Mason of Elmore, Minnesota, was traveling northbound on Highway 69 near 440th Street. Mason lost control of the vehicle and it left the roadway and entered the east ditch before vaulting over 440th Street. The Buick rolled and Mason was ejected from the vehicle.

As a result of the crash, Mason, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
