CHARLES CITY – A convicted domestic abuser was busy perfecting his craft once again recently, as he was jailed after another incident.
Charles City police were called on September 28 at about 9:08 AM to the 700 block of 6th Avenue for a disturbance. Officers arrived and after an investigation, 50-year-old Brien Slinger was arrested on a felony charge of third or subsequent offense domestic abuse assault and obstruction of emergency communications.
Slinger was taken to the county jail, where he remains held on bond. He will face an arraignment on November 15.
Slinger was charged with felony domestic abuse back in 2004 and took a plea deal to a lesser charge of second offense domestic abuse assault. He was sent to jail, fined and put on probation. He later violated his probation and was sent to the Beje Clark halfway house for 6 months.
