Large machine shed burns outside Mason City (photos)

RURAL MASON CITY – A fire northwest of Mason City destroyed a machine shed early Saturday morning.

On July 2nd, 2016, approximately 0126 hours a large structure fire was reported at 12577 300th Street in Mason City, Iowa, which is the Wendel’s Farm. A large machine shed containing approximately 200 hay bales was destroyed. There is no cause as to how the fire was started. At this time, it remains under investigation. The home owner was not home at the time of the incident.

There was no one injured and the building is a total loss.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs Department was assisted by the Clear Lake Fire Department, Fertile Fire Department, Manly Fire Department, Hanlontown Fire Department, Ventura Fire Department, Iowa State Patrol, and Mason City Police Department.

I’m looking into a case, does anyone know what type of vehicles the Wendel family had around that time period?

Not good, they just had to replace these buildings last year because a storm destroyed them.

Not good anytime they are good people.
