WEST DES MOINES, IOWA – Two men robbed a West Des Moines bank Monday and police are seeking clues.
At approximately 3:05 P.M. on June 7th, 2016 West Des Moines Police were notified of a robbery at 1st National Bank, 301 5th Street, West Des Moines. Officers responded to the scene and determined that two subjects had entered through the west main doors and committed a robbery of the bank. The first subject is described as a black male wearing a dark top, dark pants with a red stripe and a dark colored mask. The second subject is described as possibly a black male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and pants. Both subjects displayed dark colored hand guns. The male wearing the dark clothing, jumped over the counter and removed monies from the teller drawers. Both subjects then exited the bank through the west main doors. No one was injured during the robbery. The bank does have video surveillance cameras in place. West Des Moines Police are actively investigating at the scene and the bank is temporarily closed at this time.
