Violent Mason City man accused of violating no-contact order

MASON CITY – A Mason City felon convicted of numerous domestic abuse charges was caught by police Thursday, allegedly in possession of illegal drugs and in violation of a protective order.

Mason City police officers were dispatched before 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 21, to the 400 block of 3rd Street NW for a report of a no-contact order violation. At the scene, officers investigated, leading to the arrest one subject for violating a no-contact order and drug charges.

Brady Joe Hunt, age 35 of Mason City, was charged with violating a no-contact order. Two days earlier, a judge had issued a protective order, barring him from contact with a woman who lives in an apartment where this incident occurred.

Hunt was also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed and soon released as he awaits court appearances.

Hunt has been charged previously with domestic abuse and other crimes.
