MASON CITY – A Mason City man will try to beat his third accusation by Mason City police of felony theft after he was arrested for punching a wall at his girlfriend’s house.
Mason City police were sent to the 1100 block of 1st Street SE after it was reported that Dennis Leo Reich was at his girlfriend’s house in violation of a no-contact order, connected to a petition for relief from domestic abuse she had filed for in court. It was reported to police that Reich had punched a hole in the wall above his girlfriend’s head and may have pushed her.
Police arrived, and after an investigation, Reich was arrested. He was charged with violating a no-contact order and burglary in the second degree, a felony. He is now in the county jail, held on a total of $12,000 cash-only bond.
Reich has been charged twice before by Mason City police with felony second degree theft. Both times, the charge was dismissed.
