CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man rolled his Ford pickup on an icy road and was killed.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash occurred on Monday afternoon, January 23, 2023. At about 2:30 PM that day, 44-year-old Julius Arthur Bryant of Charles City was southbound on an icy, snow-packed Willow Avenue in rural Charles City in a 2002 Ford F-350 pickup truck when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck entered the west ditch where it impacted a creek bank and rolled onto the driver’s side. Bryant was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Floyd County sheriff’s office, Colwell and Charles City Fire, AMR EMS and the Floyd County Medical Examiner.
