FAYETTE – An Iowa man is accused of drunk driving and vehicular homicide after an accident last month that left two injured and one man dead.

On December 3, 2014, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office arrested Anthony Keith Fogle, age 18 of Independence, on a valid Fayette County Arrest Warrant.  Fogle is charged with vehicular homicide, a Class B Felony; Operating while Intoxicated 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor; Reckless Driving, a Simple Misdemeanor; and Seat belt Violation, a Simple Misdemeanor.

After a month long investigation, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office has filed the charges in connection with a single vehicle fatality accident that occurred on November 1, 2014 on 35th Street approximately 1.5 miles west of Oelwein, Iowa.  An investigation determined that Fogle was driving his 1995 Ford F250 pick-up west bound when he entered the north ditch. Fogle continued driving his vehicle west and struck a residential driveway. The vehicle became airborne and rolled multiple times. A front seat passenger, 20-year-old Branden Samuel of Wadena, was ejected and killed during the accident. A back seat passenger in the Fogle vehicle, 21-year-old Louis Lumpkin of Oelwein was also injured.

Fogle’s vehicle was considered a total loss.

Fogle was taken into custody and transported to Fayette County Jail, where he is being held on $25,000 cash bond.
