MASON CITY – A speeding driver was stopped by law enforcement early Sunday and taken to jail after she appeared to be intoxicated.
A Cerro Gordo deputy executed a traffic stop at 12th Street NW and Monroe Avenue Sunday just before 3:00 AM. During the traffic stop, the deputy determined that the driver, 23-year-old Ana Maria Mateo Agustin of Mason City, was intoxicated and speeding in her car. She also had no insurance.
A breath alcohol test was administered at the jail less than an hour later by the arresting deputy on the only female subject arrested that day for drunk driving. The test results showed 0.118 and 0.117.
Agustin was soon released from jail.
