MASON CITY – Two people were brought to jail late Wednesday after a traffic stop on the city’s North End produced the powerful narcotic methamphetamine.

At about 10:04 PM on the evening of November 19, a Cerro Gordo deputy conducted a traffic stop at the 100 block of 6th Street NW. The driver, Andrew Joseph Snyder, age 46 of Mason City, was barred from the privilege of driving, the deputy discovered. During the ensuing search of the vehicle, suspected methamphetamine was found. A passenger in the vehicle, Cory Lynn Mathahs, age 46 of Mason City, was wanted on a warrant out of Jefferson county for a probation violation connected to a drunk driving case. Both persons were arrested.

Snyder was charged with driving while barred and possession of meth with intent to deliver a C felony. He is being held in the county jail on $50,000 bond. Mathahs is being held on $500 bond on the arrest warrant.
