
MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore keeper Nathan Spores has earned all-NJCAA Region XI honors for the second straight year.
Spores was a first-team selection this season after being selected the second team as a freshman.
Also, NIACC freshman Kevin Fortes was selected to the first-team a forward. Sophomore midfielder Ivan Adika was a second-team selection and freshman midfielder Cesar Herrera was an honorable mention selection.
Spores had a save percentage of .772. He allowed 36 goals and stopped 122 shots.
Fortes led the Trojans (4-11-2) in scoring with 37 points (17 goals and three assists).
It’s the second straight season that the Trojans have had two first-team all-region selections. Last year, Leo Driscoll was a first-team midfielder and Tim Sharples was a first-team defender.
